TRIBE FEVER!

We had a great time today at Progressive Field. The Indians took on Kansas City Royals. OK, maybe the Indians didn't win, but we still had a great day! Thank you to everyone who came and showed your team spirit for the Indians and Summer at Laurel!

Magic Tree House Campers Return from Africa

Our Magic Tree House campers return from Africa as they wrap up their Lions Past Lunchtime week of camp!  They had a chance this week to make lots of new friends, explore our campus and do some great art projects!  The highlight of today was probably the huge kickball game we had out on the field and the performance that Daring Camp put on for us in the afternoon!  Campers had the chance to participate in many of the improv games that our Daring Campers: Dare to be a Stage Producer, have been practicing all week!  They particularly liked the Freeze game!  At the end of the day they enjoyed some water balloon fun with Daring Camp and some freeze pops!

It was a great week thanks to Ms. McCool, Ms. Z, Miss Maggie and Miss Megan!  We look forward to seeing returning campers on Monday and wish everyone else a fantastic rest of the summer!!

Daring Improv Performance

The Daring Campers spent a lot of time today preparing for their major debut!  In the morning they created signs advertising their afternoon performance.  They also spent some time practicing the improv games that they were going to demonstrate and lead later in the day.  Our 3rd and 4th grade campers liked playing these acting games throughout the week- channeling their inner actor/actress!  And I have to say they are quite the performers.  Their talent was evident at their 1:30 show as the Magic Tree House campers looked on with wonder.  The Daring Campers also led some of the younger campers in the improv activities like Freeze and Mirror.  Also during the day, campers had a chance to go down to the creek and enjoyed some water balloon and popcicle fun with the younger campers at the end of the day.  It was definitely a fun week thanks to Ms. C and Miss Kate!

We look forward to seeing many of you next week and wish those of you who are not returning to camp, a wonderful rest of the summer!

Thursday Happenings

The Butler Campus campers managed to stay dry today, but it was definitely a hot and muggy day!  The Magic Tree House Campers and Daring Campers started the morning at the Ursuline pool.  After returning back to camp, and eating snack, the campers were ready to start their day.  Magic Tree House campers worked on ceramic elephant banks and an elephant hand print painting to go with their theme of Lions at Lunchtime.  The Daring Campers did some improv games(they have really enjoyed doing these this week) and talked about a performance that they are going to put on for the younger campers tomorrow!  After lunch, Magic Tree House campers read more in their book, played on the playground, did some group games and had fun being together.  Daring Camp did Project Adventure, where they continued to do some obstacle courses with a more challenging and wacky twist.

Tomorrow is FREAKY FRIDAY, and it's Pajama Day!  Does that mean everyone gets to sleep in tomorrow?!

Gator Train's Great Day!

Due to the rain, we decided to stay here. These campers had a fantastic attitude and had a great day of mostly indoor play. (We did get a chance to get outdoors for a little while). We played several group games in the Multi-Purpose Room, heard some wonderful stories during story time and enjoyed playing with friends in the classrooms.
